Data risk mitigation and a VoIP solution across national branches

Leopard Coachlines & BusTravel NZ

The fleet comprises luxury European VIP sedans of three seat capacity up to 48-seat tour coaches, the majority of our fleet are 24-seat tour coaches with a luxury specification not normally seen in vehicles of this size.  Functioning from hubs in both Auckland and Christchurch, the Leopard family are the trusted supplier of transport for the likes of Auckland Airport, Sky City and Internal Affairs.

The Situation

The group’s Auckland operations are experiencing rapid growth and for historical reasons, their IT infrastructure was located in their Christchurch office on aging hardware.  The company wanted to reduce their Organisational risk and improve performance so that all users had a better experience.

The Solution

Intellium built a virtual server on new hardware and hosted it in their Auckland Data Centre. This mitigated the hardware risk and also freed the Auckland and Christchurch locations from the need to provide a secure server rack with air conditioning.

Intellium simultaneously built a wide area network (WAN) using cost effective Ultrafast Broadband connections.  A high quality WAN enabled the upgrade of the phone system to Intellium’s Hosted PBX which uses VoIP to deliver a number of functional benefits e.g., voicemail to email, call transfer between branches by extension. All staff members can confidently call Intellium to resolve any technology problem they have and it is covered by their Premium Support plan.
